The almost endless hiking trails lead through dense forests, fascinating moors and across meadows full of wildflowers. The 950 m high Wasserkuppe is not only the highest mountain in Hesse, but also an Eldorado for air sports enthusiasts. Gliders, parachutists and paragliders are at home here and offer a colorful picture in the sky at all times of the year. The first-class view from the Wasserkuppe radome in all directions even extends as far as the Harz Mountains in good weather.
