History of the hotel

The Neumühle has had its idyllic location on the Franconian Saale for over 500 years. Only in the past, it wasn't hotel guests who lived here, but the millers and farmers who lived and worked here with their families.

After the end of the Second World War, mill operations ceased and the Neumühle was left to nature. It slowly and steadily became more and more of a ruin - a relic from ancient times that no longer seemed to have any use.

But then one day, the future owner happened to drive past the Neumühle in his car and saw something in it: A vision. A vision of a magical place. A place that people from all over the country and the world flock to - simply because it is so beautiful.

And he put his words into action. Building began around 50 years ago. The best craftsmen and artists from the country were sought out to build the Neumühle in its unique half-timbered style piece by piece - and to fill the old walls with life again. The result was a unique feel-good place!

Today, it is precisely this mixture of tradition, pioneering spirit and progress that characterizes the Neumühle. Here, the past meets modernity, luxury meets nature. And, of course, people meet people. This has ensured that we are already the 11th most popular resort in the world on HolidayCheck in 2022. And we are still a long way from reaching our goal. The Neumühle team consists of a total of 60 employees in the reception, service, housekeeping, wellness and technical departments. The average age is 34.

Rooms, wellness & restaurant

The Neumühle site is over 20,000 square meters in size and is located between the Diebach and Morlesau districts of Hammelburg.

The hotel has a total of 31 rooms in 9 different room categories. In addition to the main restaurant, the "Scheune", there is also a courtyard where you can eat and drink, as well as a sunbathing lawn with a bar. In addition to the hotel guests, day guests also come to the restaurant or the wellness area.
